The Marquis nodded slowly. "Oui, I've never hurt- I've never hurt anyone. Not your kind or anyone else's," he pleaded. This was the truth. Not personally, or even indirectly had Claude tried to hurt anyone. He still didn't want to hurt anyone from the Fanallan... killing was wrong. And yet the Fanallan tried to kill him. Speaking of which... was this woman a member of the Fanallan? He'd better not bring that up.
The next question made him more nervous. His eyes wide with fear, he looked up from his balled position. Tentatively, Claude stammered, "One- one thousand francs." He didn't move from that spot, afraid that was not enough to make her happy.

Even if he had asked that question she would never answer it truthfully. Unless of course she was going to kill him then she would answer with the truth and probably kill him right after. Of course right now that was not her objective. Getting rid of the pain was her main objective at the moment.
"A thousand francs? Your life is worth so little to you? I can see one of my weapons for two thousand francs? You are saying you are worth less than a jade dagger?" She frowned pulling out a small dagger of her own. "Try again Claude."

His fears were all too real. One thousand francs was not enough. How was he supposed to know what this woman made on average? He had taken a guess, though he wasn't sure how he was going to get this money to her. He did not have much with him.
Claude whimpered and drew back as the knife came into view. He could only imagine what she had used it for on the General, or how brutally his own death might be. He felt his eyes well up again.
"Five- five thousand francs," he pleaded, unsure of what else to do.

"Now now Claude, are you about to start crying again? I thought we had gotten past that point in our relationship." she said smiled "And Five thousand is okay..."
She pressed the knife against the base of his throat. "But I know you can do better sir." she said with a smile. "You're supposed to be a rich man. You could afford twice that I believe." Sara wasn't truly in need of the money, but why not get all that you could. She was already threatening him, might as well do it right.

Claude swallowed hard, and tried to force his tears back. He was trying his hardest not to cry, or end up in a puddle of his own waste. But with the knife so close... he couldn't help but let the tears flow soundlessly. Luckily he kept his bladder in check.
"I don't- I don't have enough on- on my person-" Claude pleaded, his voice strained and his adams apple grazing the blade a little. It was then he remembered what he did have.
He slowly and tentatively reached behind his neck and pulled off the golden cross, and then his father's ring. It was green and gold and had the family cross on it. Though he didn't want to part with it... as it was one of the few thing he had left from his late father. He lay those at her feet, along with the coins he had.
"Take- take those. That's all I have. Now please- let me go-" he pleaded.

Sara swooped the belongings into her arm and moved the knife away from his throat. "Please stop begging for a moment." she said with a nod. "At the moment I'm not going to hurt you." She looked over the things he had given her, but her eyes stopped on one particular object. The ring.
"Very interesting..." she smiled looking at Claude. "You're coming with me." she said grabbing him by his arm. Her headache had subsided enough to be able to move him if his own legs wouldn't carry him. "Don't worry Claude. I'm not going to kill you, but you're coming with me. If you want to or not."
Sara smiled and pocketed the ring and other belongings as she prepared to leave. "Lets go." She said pushing him in front of her. "Walk straight down this street. Do not look at anyone, do not talk, or motion. Keep your hands at your sides and your eyes on the ground. I will direct you. Is that clear Claude?"
